Kelley & Ali | La Peg, Race Street Pier

Cocktails at La Peg and the Ben Franklin Bridge make for one stunning engagement celebration.

Kelley and Ali have us head over heels for them and we cannot WAIT for their wedding this Fall.

We love a good Philadelphia centric engagement or wedding. Having lived in the city for well over a decade, it’s like a mini homecoming. So, when Ali and Kelley suggested Race Street Pier and the Ben Franklin Bridge as the background for their photos, we were elated. This area has definitely become a favorite of ours. A stop at La Peg at Fringe Arts for cocktails and exploring the new Cherry Street Pier were a huge bonus.

Meeting these two back home in West Chester at the beginning of their planning process was a treat. It made this last time together even more enjoyable. We got to catch up, learn more about wedding details, and hear about friends, family, and an upcoming trip to NOLA.

We started our evening together at Amada for a quick drink. However, our main focus was the beloved Ben Franklin bridge. This is an important location to our brides… but holy hell was it crowded. Since our sessions are about three hours, we had time to let the crowd dissipate. We walked over to Cherry Street Pier to wait.

So, Cherry Street Pier? Uhm… YES! It is really rad over there. We even stumbled on art work made by some of my PAFA students! I feel truly blown away by what Philadelphia is doing with its once downtrodden areas. So glad we got to explore it with Kelley and Ali, and make some art inside it’s creative (and open) walls.

Stops for cocktails and an outfit change at LaPeg at Fringe Arts had Ashley and I both really inspired by the space. We took some photos of these badass ladies doing what they do best… talking, having a drink, and enjoying each others company. It made us realize that engagement photos don’t have to be something grandeur than normal life. Sharing this time with Kelley and Ali was really special.

We then ended our evening back at the piers… with the Ben Franklin all to ourselves.

We are over the moon for these two and cannot WAIT until their wedding at one of our other favorite places in all of Philly… Material Culture. <3
