Kind Words

Kind words from those who have let us into the most lovely moments of their lives.

“It is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience photography and the beauty of fine art in their own realm. It is even more rare to discover that the women behind the lenses are not only masters of their craft, but beautiful souls you call friends as well. Maria and Ashley have been a part of our journey in ways that surpassed our need for “professional photographers.” They were unique, caring, FUNNY (it’s very important that I mention funny), EXTREMELY talented individuals who captured the true nature of our love story, and every detail that makes our relationship one of a kind, or as we like to call it, “Simply Meant To Be.” Our interests of the dark, eerie, and completely weird, have meshed with the aesthetics of nature and passion in ways I didn’t think were possible. It was never about posing in front of cool backdrops, smiling at the camera, or trying to prove something. It was about finding beauty in life’s perfect imperfections, and truly being yourself, in the moment, with the one you love.  The art of Iris and Echo captures the moments you take for granted in an environment entirely your own. Moments you didn’t know could be visually portrayed as works of art. Moments you have only ever felt, not seen. The artistic approach of this dynamic duo’s vision is everything you want for those moments. To Maria & Ashley: an enormous heartfelt “thank you” will never be enough. We love you both. -Kristine & Adam

We’re not crying, you’re crying. Ok, we’re totally crying.

“Have you ever wanted to be the subject of a beautiful painting? That’s what it’s like when you get your photography done with Maria and Ashley. You get to experience these incredible little private moments again, captured in the best possible light, from the outside looking in. I am so lucky to have had these ladies be part of my engagement, pregnancy, newborn, wedding, and countless family shoots. I know I speak for many other families when I say that they are professional and take the time to get the right shots. They can bring out exactly what you want in your photos in the artistic way you couldn’t have seen yourself. Maria has spent hours with my kids so they could get comfortable and let their real smiles come out. Iris and Echo documents your family in a more natural and comfortable setting. They love what they do and it shows in their work.” -Caitlyn

“Our entire experience with Ashley was wonderful, start to finish! Her relaxed attitude and calming demeanor instantly relaxed the kids and made the session very pleasant. There was no pressure on us or the kids to “pose” or get the “perfect” shot – she did an amazing job of capturing the essence of the kids with candid moments in time while we were playing as a family. She and the camera blended in seamlessly, allowing for the capture of amazing vignettes. The pictures themselves were stunning!! Overall, our experience couldn’t have been better and we can’t wait to book another session soon!” -Meg

“My husband and I had our engagement session with Iris and Echo and we had the best time doing it! I had known Maria through school but also respected the photography work she was doing and her and Ashley had a great website full of examples of couples’ portfolios. When the day came for our session we were a little nervous at first but it quickly went away since we got along so well and the duo made us so comfortable. We could really be ourselves, showing how excited we were to be engaged and Maria and Ashley really understood our vision. The great thing about Iris and Echo is that it’s very personal, the team tells your story and when applicable, adds personal notes and touches that makes you feel like you are their only client. I can not only speak highly of Maria as a friend but also as a business professional and her and Ashley make a really excellent photography duo. You will not regret booking with them, they will stay in touch with you and become good friends with you. Who wouldn’t want that?” – Christina
